I personally like to do different things in regards to my Bible reading. But no matter what special studies I engage myself in, I find it always helpful to read through the Bible in a year.
Last year I kept a handwritten 2 by 2 inch piece of paper that I kept misplacing or would fall out of my Bible. I figured this year I would make one that would not often fall out of my Bible and help me keep a good record which I share with you. The Bible books are listed and one just checks them off as read.
I have included two kinds of Bible reading bookmarks. Each has the full 66 Bible books on them, but they are differently designed.
The traditional Bible reading bookmark goes by the Bible book order in most English Bibles whether it be a King James, NASB or NIV. Most people will prefer this order.
I have recently updated these with four different colored versions. All free. No catch.
Each pdf is two-sided, one with the Bible Books and the other with a chronological chart (see below).
The chronological Bible reading bookmark introduces the full 66 Bible books but according to the description within them. They are not introduced by the time they are written. This would yet be another though less helpful method. More interesting and helpful is the time they are written.
For example, Acts was written after the Pauline epistles but since it describes the early activities of the church, we have placed it before the many Pauline and other letters written. The same is true with the Gospels. John was perhaps the latest book written but since it describes the early ministry of Jesus, we have placed it before the books describing the birth of the church of God.
I love good chronological charts. They help a person learn more quickly and remember longer. Two charts are placed on the back of these bookmarks. The Old Testament (OT) chronological chart provides an overview of the whole Old Testament. The New Testament chronological chart only presents Paul's missionary journeys and the letters he has written. Click on the above links to get a bigger picture of these two charts.
Whole: Whole means a complete set of 2 pages designed to print two sides, one side with five to seven bookmarks and the other with the chronological charts. The bookmarks include both traditional and chronological Bible reading records. Simply print both sides and cut. (Click doublesided on printer with longside). Of course you can choose to print only one side, then cut.
Blue | Red | Multicolored | White
Single: In this case we have provided a graphic image of the two bookmarks at 152% size as well as the chronological chart. Quality should be sufficient. This gives you more freedom to resize or put with other information.
We encourage you to print the ones above and share!
