Because Christ cares for us, we can learn to trust Him more. Let’s see how He cares for us and comes to our aid.
1) Christ’s Intervention and Intercession
We sometimes find ourselves in difficult situations, but in many cases we can figure a way out. At other times though, we really get into impossible situations! Let’s see what happen to this group of people.
So the people came to Moses and said, “We have sinned, because we have spoken against the LORD and you; intercede with the LORD, that He may remove the serpents from us.” And Moses interceded for the people (Numbers 21:7).
Underline the problem the group above experienced. Circle what the Israelites did when they found themselves in real big trouble?
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a standard; and it shall come about, that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, he shall live. And it came about, that if a serpent bit any man, when he looked to the bronze serpent, he lived” (Numbers 21:8-9).
The serpents were biting them, and they were dying. What did they need to do in order to escape the maddening problem. Write down God’s solution.

John 3:14-16 tells us that this is a clear picture of how Christ can keep us from the cursed penalty of death. We only need to look upon Jesus Christ in hope. If we can rely on Jesus to deliver us from our sin, then we should trust Him to help us in other matters too. He has proved Himself as a very faithful priest.
2) Christ’s Strength and Care
Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us (Romans 8:34).
We sometimes might think that because Jesus died that He no longer has power to help us. This is wrong. The fact is that Christ who was dead is now alive! He was raised from the dead. Find out where Christ is and what He is doing by underlining the answer to the following two questions.
• Where is Christ Jesus now?
• What is Christ regularly doing for us who believe?
