• Memory Verse: Philippian 2:5-7
Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men.
• Find and Serve
Do you notice needs of others and ask whether you can help them? This is the task of every Christian. Discover three special needs you could meet. Ask God to help you fulfill those needs and do what is required with a servant mindset.
• Using your wealth to glorify God
We are stewards of what the Lord has given to us including our knowledge, talents and wealth. Do you give to God’s work (the church) each week? Christians should give at least ten percent (tithe) of his real income. This is obedience. Begin to consider how you can strategically invest your resources to advance His kingdom? For example, maybe this year you can plan to give 5% to missions. Add a bit each year!
• Taking Christ to Work
We all seem to have someone that asks us to do things. This might be your boss, parent or government official. Some of us proudly think that ‘our way’ is better than what we are being asked to do. When we do it our way, we often feel like we need to lie. Confess this as sin. Do all things the way you are directed. Combine this compliance with an ‘I really want to be God’s blessing to ______’ attitude. Note the things you need to change in your spiritual journal along with the results.
Progress on projects should be recorded in a spiritual journal of some type.
A strategic basic discipleship series designed to help Christians grow not only in their relationship with God but also with other people. Each section uses a familiar relationship to bring out basic but very practical Biblical teaching.
We highly recommend getting the BFF Discipleship #1 Digital Library which not only includes the Relationship Discipleship book, but slides, summaries, user guide, teacher's reference, etc. This D#1 Library also contains all our other Christian training resources for new believers.
These Christian media-enriched resources can also be purchased in the BFF Resource Center.
