Psalms 36:1-4, NASB
(For the choir director. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD.)
Transgression speaks to the ungodly within his heart; There is no fear of God before his eyes. For it flatters him in his own eyes, concerning the discovery of his iniquity and the hatred of it. The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit;
He has ceased to be wise and to do good.He plans wickedness upon his bed; He sets himself on a path that is not good; he does not despise evil.
There was no belief in the spirit world or God. The movie's only direct teaching was that there was no god or God.
Man, like Indiana Jones, could do anything without God. We never saw him pray. He only didn't like snakes.
The senseless killing depicted there was no value in a single man's life. A museum's collection was more important than life.
The movie toyed with our sensual feelings in numerous suggested scenes all in the context of infidelity and lust.
We are taught to be excited about the novel, temptation, and manmade mission rather than being encouraged to persevere in our humble day to day often unnoticed faithful service for and trust in the Lord.
This movie was not written to exalt our God and deepen our dependence upon His love and strength but to cause man to scoff at God and pride himself in his self-sufficiency. As a Dad, I know I needed to make a few decisions.
