Purpose
John 6:45-47 Bible Study Questions on "Taught of God" is a perceptive study on Jesus' comments against religion.
45 “It is written in the prophets, ‘AND THEY SHALL ALL BE TAUGHT OF GOD.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father, comes to Me. 46 “Not that any man has seen the Father, except the One who is from God; He has seen the Father. 47 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. – Jesus (NASB)

Advanced questions
In light of what Jesus said above, what further light does the following New Testament passage from Hebrews 8:10-13 give on the meaning “taught of God?”
“10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
11 And they shall not teach, each one his neighbor and each one his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
13 In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” (Hebrews 8:10-13-ESV)
Summary
Religion is not meant to be a means to God but to facilitate worship, care and fellowship. God wants to be each man and woman’s instructor. Early on, the evil one stole that attention. Since then mankind has lived in great confusion and loneliness. When God becomes our instructor, He enables us to personally know Jesus Christ. It is the personal knowledge and belief in Christ that grants us eternal life rather than our baptism or membership in a church.
