DESIGNS ARE TO STUDY!

Gods design is beautiful and yet intricate. Like a snowflake, it is simple and yet can be studied for hours.
Once we believe God has a purpose and design for our sexual natures, we can learn certain aspects rather quickly just by simple observation. But study is needed to appreciate its great design.
For example, look at the design on the left. What do you see? Look again. Keep looking. In about one minute you will probably be able to make quite a few observations. Now do the same with the design on the right. How would you compare them? (It is in fact the same as the left but warped). |

Once we set at studying the perfect from the imperfect, we quickly can see the difference. Drive with an imperfect tire, and you will soon notice! So many people, though, are willing to live their lives not thinking of Gods design or interest in Gods design for their sexual natures.
Only by taking a few wreckless steps a beautiful design can be ruined. By looking at the stained image, one will not be able to recapture the real image. So how do we get a picture of the real image? We need to turn to His instruction book, the Bible. There He has given us all that we are needed to know Him and His ways. We honor God when we live according to His instruction book, the scriptures. As designer and maker, He sets all the quality controls. He knows what we were made for and how we best function.
Faith is needed to guide our lives according to His design. We need faith or confidence to study the Bible and conform our lives to the true design or we will live by the ruined image. We need to have confidence that His Word is right, but we also need faith to believe that His Word is best. This kind of faith provides needed motivation. In Genesis God stated that the different aspects of His creation were 'very good.' In our fallen world we need confidence in Him to help give us strength and resolve to know and obtain this design for our lives. This is the race our series is named after. We are striving hard to obtain the very best for our lives to His glory.
Although we cannot be comprehensive here, we know that we all have heard people questioning the reliability of the Bible. The Bible is really worth our trust, but many of maligned it. At this point let us simply point out the wise perspective of Jesus on this issue.

"And He (Jesus) answered and said, Have you not read, that He who created them from the beginning MADE THEM MALE AND FEMALE, and said, FOR THIS CAUSE A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER, AND SHALL CLEAVE TO HIS WIFE; AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH'? Consequently they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate.
(Matthew 19:4-6)

Conclusions
- Jesus trusted in the Genesis records. If the grand teacher trusted in them, so should I.
- Jesus taught from the holy scriptures in Genesis on marriage in general.
- Jesus taught authoritatively about the structure of marriage from the scriptures. In this case marriage is defined by definition for a man and a woman to live in a God-ordained monogamous lifelong relationship.
