Purpose

Identify the drastic number of changes that have taken place in world missions in the recent years, making the old term 'modern missions' look antiquated. Many illustrations and charts highlight the great work God is generally doing and especially through BFF.

• God's mission agenda in going on at great speed! This video and sideshow reflect several points:

• Description of the father of modern missions - William Carey

• The character of missionaries back around 1800 A.D.

• Charts highlighting the number of cross-cultural missionaries throughout time, especially the great increase starting with modern mission era.

• Contrast travel and communication in 1800 with today's modern world.

• Identify how personal and leadership training resources have drastically changed from 1800s to today. This is done by pointing out how the Lord has raised up BFF for this era of equipping God's leaders to reach the masses by:

  • Developing relevant teaching materials (content)

  • Distributing these resources in different general ways such as the web and rss feeds.

  • Deeply penetrating the cultures around the world by seeking God's special ways to bring these resources closer to the Christian leaders in the various nations.
