We have so far been discussing those things that we are trying to cross over on the bridge. It is the very reason the bridge is there.
In this session we want to take one more step up the bride of hope. We will learn the important difference between anxiety and anxious thoughts. I would like us to say this verse together.
"When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Thy consolations delight my soul." (Psalms 94:19).
Without understanding the difference between anxious thoughts and anxiety, we will never be able to escape the snare of anxiety. Our end hope is to bring you to the point that you can by God's grace prevent these worrisome thoughts from dominating your life.
The problems we face are often very complex. They seem to lack a solution. Jesus knew that God could help each person that trusted in Him. In the Gospels we do not see Jesus wondering whether God could help this or that person even though they did have complex problems. Jesus knew where the source of the problems derived from the father of lies. Jesus Christ has now defeated him by His death and resurrection. The Spirit takes the light of God's Word and shines it on the dark lies lodged in our minds and leads us out into the path of light.
Let's look closer at these anxious thoughts. Next page
