Dear Friends and Family, Birth #1 A new child: Rebekah
|
Elizabeth took a year off from college to be at home and earn some money. She has been of tremendous help around the home, especially at after Rebekahs birth. After Linda's Mom left, she stepped right in to orchestrate the meals and many activities. We have thoroughly enjoyed her presence. Her last temp job was baby sitting in a Chinese family. I don't think she expected the quick brush up on Chinese that she needed. She is also taking a History correspondence course. |
Christy has senior gleam in her eyes. She has 30 hours of guided permit driving toward the 50 needed before getting her license. She is eager to go anywhere. Need milk? Want to get some bread? She also has become a very reliable help. Her charm makes her quite the entertainer not needing but a few minutes to get us all laughing. She is contemplating attending a cosmetology course associated with our home school organization Advanced Training Institute after this year. |
Allison (10) does great in her math and writes interesting stories. How she loves horses and dogs! She and Daniel (8) either bike, walk, roller blade down and up the hill to visit some good friends. Our yard is a bit small so the children spill out onto the sidewalks and near the neighbors houses! Daniel has the special touch for a magic back rub. |
Benjamin (6) has learned to ride his bike . He has quite the skill and persistence in finding lost items. Last month we were trying to return an item and looked everywhere for the return slip. Finally, Linda yells out, Its a miracle! Benjamin found the slip behind the sofa by the wall. Benjamin is often found getting up early and putting all the clean dishes away on his own. | Kathryn (5) can be such a sweet girl. Her favorite pass times is coloring and doing puzzles. She likes helping people do their jobs. She regularly helps Dad clean his study. | Isaac (2) is such a charmer that people want to take him home . He is so lovable - even with a few stubborn moments - but generally has very pleasant countenance. Like most 2 yearolds, he loves playing any fun game but especially loves jumping and wrestling. |
We have all settled into the Pittsburgh Chinese Church at Oakland. For many of the children it took a bit of adjustment because their friends are in the mother church. Paul has, however, been involved heavily with the church from its inception 7 years ago. Just yesterday, the Oakland branch officially became its own church. Elizabeth and Christy have recently started helping teach Sunday School.
Feel free to keep in touch.
