Most seminary and Bible School courses are not designed to help one seriously integrate studies with life-needs including ministry. One church planting course I took was extremely practical and helpful even though it was designed for North America suburbia! One exercise that caused me to extend my faith was to come up with a strategy plan for the church planting situation we would encounter when returning to Taiwan.
We wanted to work with the 'industrial worker' in an effective way. Our premise was:
The quickest and most effective way to assure good discipleship and the settling of new believers in a local church among the lower economic class of people was to start a church with the support and guidance of another so-burdened church.
This then became our strategy.
